Former South Carolina state Treasurer Thomas Ravenel was arrested in East Hampton, N.Y., Monday on charges of DUI, according to the East Hampton Star newspaper.

Ravenel’s DUI defense attorney told the judge his client was in East Hampton playing polo. Ravenel’s bond was set at $650.
Ravenel, R-Charleston, resigned as state treasurer in 2007 and pleaded guilty to cocaine possession, serving time in federal prison. Ravenel is currently doing a reality TV show for the Bravo network called "Southern Charm," which features young aristocrats from Charleston, SC.
