Friday began what South Carolina traffic officials call the "100 Deadly Days of Summer," which spans from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend. During this time South Carolina roadways see an increase in traffic, and in turn an increase of car accidents and accident-related fatalities.
Troopers in Charleston and across South Carolina step up traffic law enforcement during these 100 days, and this year's focus will be on DUI and safety belt enforcement.
